Neighborhood-Wide Garage Sale – extended signup date!

We are excited to announce RCPNA’s first annual neighborhood-wide garage sale – May 21-22.

To sign up, please use our signup form found on the Garage Sale page, or email events@rcpna.org with “Garage Sale” in the subject line no later than May 10. For more information, please email events@rcpna.org.

We’ll have a map of all the participating locations to make it easier for buyers to find treasures for sale. The fee is $25 per location to cover the cost of the map and to raise some money for the Neighborhood Association. We will be selling advertising space on the map at reasonable rates.

Please see the Garage Sale page for more information on payment options.

Don’t miss the chance to declutter and get rid of things you haven’t used since the early days of COVID – maybe a pizza stone or an ice cream maker? Whether selling or shopping, hope you’ll join the fun.

Rose City Park School Informational Meeting for Vietnamese Dual Language Immersion Program

“Dual language immersion (DLI) education provides social, cognitive and academic benefits to children and prepares them to be successful in a global society. Portland Public Schools offers free programs in five languages: Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin, Russian and Vietnamese.
Our own Rose City Park Elementary houses the Vietnamese program, which is relatively new and usually has no wait-list. That means families interested in foreign language immersion will have greater odds of enrollment in this program. Native and non-native Vietnamese families looking for a challenging, engaging and highly beneficial language and social program should apply. Attendance at Kinder Connect on Feb. 18 or 26 is mandatory for entering a DLI lottery.”

A Vietnamese family in the Overlook neighborhood with two young kids in the Vietnamese DLI program is happy to answer questions, open to forming study/play groups, and provide general support for families interested. Please contact Sarah-Truclinh Tran (st.tran@gmail.com) if you’d like to chat about the Vietnamese program with a family.”
