Northeast Village PDX presents “Climate Resilience for an Aging Nation” September 10, 4-5PM

What: “Climate Resilience for an Aging Nation” – virtual presentation by Daniel Arigoni, author and Managing Director for Policy and Solutions at National Housing Trust. In her 2023 book “Climate Resilience for an Aging Nation,”  Arigoni argues that we cannot achieve true resilience until communities adopt interventions that work to meet the needs of their oldest residents who are disproportionately affected by extreme weather, flooding, hurricanes and more. This talk will provide an overview of how and why climate change differently impacts older adults, and the range of solutions and strategies that can be deployed to reduce risk.

When: September 10, 2024 from 4:00 – 5:00 pm

Where: Virtual. Register for zoom link on nevillagepdx.org/calendar

ROSE CITY PARK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Fundraise for Staffing at RCP

  • RCP is facing significant staffing cuts for the 2024/2025 school year – but you can donate to help!
  • The Fund for Portland Public Schools is a non-profit that raises funds for staffing positions at schools.
  • A portion of your donation to RCP also supports equity provisions at other Portland schools. Details here: https://fundforpps.org/ppsparentfund

Rose City Park Elementary is facing some significant budget cuts for the 2024/25 year, and will be required to eliminate several positions in the next school year- including two key Vietnamese language positions. We are concerned about the impact this will have on our kids and the school.

Our group has raised $60,000 so far, from businesses and students’ families, to save these positions! We are nearing our goal of $83,000. Can you help us close the gap? Our deadline for fundraising is June 30th.

Make a tax-deductible donation today!

Thank you for supporting our kids!
